OUR RESPONSIBILITY
FOR THE GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN
With the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, companies are responsible for ensuring fair and sustainable standards in their global supply chains. For this, Röhm can rely on existing structures and processes. At the same time, the company wants to further intensify its efforts for responsible sourcing.
Since January 2024, the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) also applies to Röhm. It requires companies to live up to their responsibility for environmental and social standards in global supply chains. As part of the chemical industry, the company had already implemented strict environmental protection regulations along the entire value chain before the law came into force.
Among other things, Röhm relies on a special pre-qualification process for new suppliers, in which the audited suppliers have to provide extensive information about themselves. Potential risks in the areas of corruption, environment, human and labor rights, occupational safety and other aspects of social responsibility along the value chain are checked. Only suppliers who meet the LkSG criteria and endorse the Code of Conduct for Suppliers and Röhm’s General Terms and Conditions are considered for cooperation. At the same time, the company also regularly audits existing suppliers. Röhm has already audited several important suppliers. But the company wants to expand its efforts even further. In particular, the involvement of so-called category managers in supplier auditing and development will play an important role in the future.
