EcoVadis: At the top with gold
Röhm again improved its EcoVadis rating and has confirmed its gold status.
Annually, EcoVadis conducts a comprehensive questionnaire to assess a company's sustainability performance in the areas of environment, climate, labor and human rights, and good corporate governance. The assessment is used to create a ranking of the best companies e.g. in the chemical industry.
"We are very excited about the result," says Hans-Peter Hauck, Chief Operating Officer of Röhm. EcoVadis is the mirror of our commitment to the environment, social topics and good corporate governance. “We are determined to continue to follow this path.” Röhm is now among the top 3 percent (previous year 5 percent) of all companies in the chemical industry worldwide.
The basis for the EcoVadis rating was a comprehensive analysis of the impact of business and procurement activities on the environment, labor and human rights, and ethical aspects. Röhm's non-financial statement provided valuable support for this. “Overall, the extraordinary team effort to achieve this result is remarkable and shows the great commitment of everyone involved,” says Steffen Krill, Vice President Sustainability at Röhm. Since 2020, Röhm has been subject to the EcoVadis rating every year - an expression of our responsibility to the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The EcoVadis rating has established itself as a benchmark sustainability assessment, particularly in the chemical industry. Many of our customers and suppliers also take part in this rating, which enables a constructive dialogue on an equal footing. In addition, financial markets, customers, and suppliers are increasingly basing their purchasing and financing decisions on ratings such as the EcoVadis label.
Every improvement in the EcoVadis rating is a reflection of the progress Röhm has made in environmental, social, and governance topics.
