Röhm launches two new medical products at MD&M West - adding to CYROLITE® portfolio
- Röhm will exhibit at MD&M West medical technology trade show February 7-9
- Show will coincide with the launch of two new products: CYROLITE® G-20 CP and CYROLITE® MD zk6
CYROLITE® acrylic-based copolymer compounds, the world’s most advanced medical acrylics, provide a superior balance of properties that empower designers to create better-than-ever medical devices. From February 7-9, Röhm will exhibit innovative products for the medical industry at MD&M West in Anaheim, California, in booth 1389.
CYROLITE® G-20 CP: Superior content protection
CYROLITE® G-20 CP is a PMMA-based copolymer for injection molding and extrusion of UV- Light protective medical applications. Used for injection molding and extrusion applications, CYROLITE® G-20 CP ensures integrity of photosensitive substances such as oncology drugs, antibiotic, and antifungal agents that require superior UV-light protection.
- Low UV-light transmission <1.0% 260 - 480 nm
- Excellent Transmittance between 500 – 780 nm
CYROLITE® G-20 CP, allows designers the flexibility to create medical devices that offer dynamic properties which are crucial to innovation within the medical field,” says Thomas Spagnuolo, Vice President and General Manager of Molding Compounds at Roehm America.
With outstanding processability and unique bonding properties, CYROLITE® G-20 CP is dynamic and adaptable in the design of medical applications. With five times the impact resistance of unmodified acrylics and high resistance to body fluids and other chemicals, CYROLITE® G-20 CP ensures industry-leading safety and protection to its contents.
CYROLITE® MD zk6: Enhanced impact resistance
CYROLITE® MD zk6 acrylic polymer is an amorphous, impact modified thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion compound based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) for the medical device and diagnostics industry. High impact resistance and ductility/toughness make CYROLITE® MD zk6 ideal for applications like dialysis cassettes, test packs, filter housings, microfluidics, luers, tube connectors, IV catheter hubs, and Y sites.
- 3 times the impact resistance of the other MD grade acrylics
- High light transmission with little haze
“We’re excited to launch CYROLITE® MD zk6 and thrilled to be exhibiting in person once again at the MD&M West show this year,” said Thom Hemler, Global Segment Director, Medical at Roehm America. “Our team is looking forward to presenting CYROLITE® MD zk6, CYROLITE® G-20 CP, as well as our entire product portfolio in person at the show at booth 1389.”
