In partnership with supplier Valeo and the Renault Group’s consortium The Future Is NEUTRAL™, a prototype for vehicle taillights made from recycled PMMA has been developed. Röhm created new material formulations containing 30% mechanically recycled content, and Valeo produced a demonstrator using these materials. Röhm will showcase the prototype at this year’s K trade fair in October.

Dr. Otto Röhm, a company founder and namesake of today’s Röhm GmbH, has been posthumously inducted into the prestigious Plastics Hall of Fame. The ceremonial induction into the “Class of 2025” will take place on October 7, 2025, on the eve of K 2025 in Düsseldorf – the world’s leading trade fair for plastics and rubber.

Titled “Creating Sustainable Value”, Röhm has published the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) report for the 2024 financial year 2024. Starting with the 2024 report, the company is aligning its sustainability reporting with the future requirements of the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standard.

Röhm today announced the successful start of production at its new Bay City (Texas, USA) plant, implementing its proprietary C2-based LiMA technology on a large industrial scale.

Once in full production, the Röhm Bay City plant will produce 250,000 metric tons of MMA annually while delivering several very tangible benefits: the new technology is based on the raw materials ethylene, natural gas and methanol and enables higher product yield, lower energy consumption and reduced water and waste impact compared to traditional production routes.
