After only 18 months of construction, the chemical company Röhm officially opened a new innovation center at its site in Worms, Germany, together with the managing partner of the Thelen Group, the real estate investor and general contractor for the project, as well as guests from the world of politics and business.

With lowering greenhouse gas emissions the order of the day, Röhm has now expanded its proTerra product range to include PLEXIGLAS® proTerra molding compounds. They combine the proven performance of the polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) PLEXIGLAS® brand with a lower carbon footprint.

Röhm has received the ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) PLUS certification for all methyl methacrylate- and polymethyl methacrylate-products at their largest production site in Worms (Germany).

The new facility will be constructed by Röhm at OQ Chemicals’ production site at Bay City, Texas.

Röhm forges ahead with expansion of PLEXIGLAS® capacities in Shanghai

In June, Röhm successfully commissioned the plant expansion for impact-modified PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds in Worms, Germany, which are used primarily in the automotive, household, and construction sectors.
