Röhm is further expanding its market leadership in Europe with a new plant for PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds: Robert Weber, Head of the Röhm Worms site, Hans-Peter Hauck, COO of Röhm, and Siamak Djafarian, Head of the Molding Compounds Business Unit, officially commissioned the plant during an inauguration ceremony at the Worms site.

POLYVANTIS will be a new industry leading global player in the acrylics and polycarbonate film and sheet industry, formed as a result of the merger of Röhm’s Acrylic Products business unit and SABIC’s Functional Forms business.

In collaboration with partners, Röhm has taken part in a pilot project to explain the feasibility of a hydrogen corridor to politicians and the public. The collaboration involves OCI Global supplying Röhm with ISCC PLUS-certified bio-ammonia for the production of methyl methacrylate.  Compared to conventional gray ammonia, bio-ammonia can achieve a greenhouse gas reduction of more than 70%.

With the expansion of its production capacities for PMMA, Röhm has reached an important milestone in the implementation of its growth strategy. In a ceremony attended by employees, partners and political representatives, Hans-Peter Hauck, COO of Röhm, officially commissioned the plant.

With lowering greenhouse gas emissions the order of the day, Röhm has now expanded its proTerra product range to include PLEXIGLAS® proTerra molding compounds. They combine the proven performance of the polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) PLEXIGLAS® brand with a lower carbon footprint.

In June, Röhm successfully commissioned the plant expansion for impact-modified PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds in Worms, Germany, which are used primarily in the automotive, household, and construction sectors.
