Wesseling: Future-Proof Methanol Supply Through Strong Partnership
- Wesseling site will be sustainably and reliably supplied with methanol for MMA production in the long term
- Evonik and Lülsdorf Functional Solutions GmbH implemented a new forward-looking pipeline
- Pipeline successfully put into operation in April 2026
The goal of the project was to ensure a stable and environmentally advantageous supply. With the new solution, it has been possible to achieve both continuous raw material availability and a improved carbon footprint.
The solution is economically viable, logistically efficient, and designed for long-term stability. It strengthens the site’s resilience while simultaneously improving the environmental performance of production. "Here, we see an industrial network that not only connects facilities, but also people, competencies, and strategies. And that is exactly where true strength emerges," said Christopher Schindler, Head of Procurement, on the occasion of the inauguration.
